Agrishow Special: Case IH defines autonomy categories and announces pilot program
Five categories make up the framework that outlines a spectrum of automation
Crop rotation favors the production system and, among other benefits, reduces the incidence of pests, diseases and weeds and promotes conditions for increasing crop productivity, which can add up to an increase of up to 30%. Satis' national research and development manager, Aedyl Lauar, highlights that corn is the best alternative in the case of rotation with soybeans because it improves the soil. Furthermore, the practice has a positive impact on the profitability of soybean crops, especially when weather conditions are not favorable.
The professional points out three product options offered by the company that can contribute to corn cultivation and, consequently, to the rotation process. Formulated with nutrients, the Vitakelp It is aimed at seed treatment, providing greater germination vigor and better initial rooting. Source of phosphorus enriched with algae extract, the Sturdy can be applied in the vegetative phase (V4 to V6). This product helps in the development of the plant and the use of nutrients from the soil, stimulating the development of the roots and shoots. Already the Fulland assists in disease management. By improving physiological strengthening, this fertilizer acts on plant health, especially against the incidence of fungi and bacteria.
“In addition to improving grain quality and effective crop results, the three products indirectly benefit the preservation of the planting area. Among the main advantages are the strengthening and better development of the plant's root system, which, in turn, captures water and nutrients present in deeper layers of the soil, thus reducing losses caused by adverse weather conditions”, comments Aedyl Lauar.

- How important is crop rotation for soybean planting?
Among the basic principles of agriculture, crop rotation is of relevant importance, as it greatly benefits the production system, reducing sources of inoculum, pests and weeds, in addition to favoring the structural profile of the soil by presenting a different root system and providing straw for the system.
- Can you give us examples of profitability figures for soybean crops with and without crop rotation?
The differences occur in the medium term, varying between 10 and 30% profitability, especially in years where weather conditions are more unfavorable.
- Even with the low profitability of corn, does the off-season bring benefits to the producer due to its positive impact on the soil for later planting soybeans?
Perfectly. Corn is still an excellent option for rotation management, as it provides the production system with numerous benefits, such as, for example, the excellent straw produced by the crop.
- What does Satis offer to improve corn crop yield?
We work mainly by encouraging plants to develop a vigorous root system, to better cope with climatic adversities, as well as helping with phytosanitary management.
- Why is corn the best alternative for rotation with soybeans?
Because in addition to having a certain profitability, the corn plant promotes a huge improvement in the soil – plant system.
- How is the corn planting going? Is there a forecast of a drop in production compared to the previous cycle?
In some regions, planting was carried out outside the ideal season, so there may be lower productivity. Others were not even able to plant the second crop due to the delay in planting soybeans.
