Domestic cotton lint prices are weakening at the end of the month. According to Cepea researchers, the recent falls are due to the drop in external values, the greater flexibility of some sellers and the pressure exerted by buyers. Already in November, lint prices have registered an increase.

It is worth remembering that the price of cotton began this month operating below R$5/pound, showing a reaction especially in the first half of the month, when it returned to the level observed at the beginning of October/22.

According to Cepea researchers, at that time, support came from the firm position of sellers, who were attentive to the increases in export parity and contracts traded on the New York Stock Exchange (ICE Futures).

Furthermore, some industries showed an immediate need to acquire new lots and a portion of the applicants paid higher prices for superior quality feather.
