Cotton planting in Goiás is closer to the end

A survey on cotton planting in Goiás published on Friday, the 18th, shows that 91,74% of the 30 thousand hectares planned for the harvest were planted. The percentage is slightly above the 90,15% recorded the previous Friday, February 11th.

In Region 1, made up of the municipalities of Goiatuba, Morrinhos, Palmeiras de Goiás and Turvelândia, planting is complete. The area represents 9,61% of the total area to be planted in Goiás.

In Region 2, made up of the municipalities of Caiapônia, Chapadão do Céu, Mineiros, Jataí, Montividiu, Rio Verde and Perolândia, planting has progressed little, but is close to the end, reaching 99,32%, just above 99,02% registered on the 11th. The percentage represents 54,5% of the total in the state.

Region 3 had already completed 100% of the planting of its area, which corresponds to 27,20% at the state level. The region encompasses the municipalities of Cristalina, Cabeceiras and Luziânia.

Region 4, made up of the municipality of Britânia, has finally started planting, according to Agrodefesa's planting calendar, which foresees the sowing of cotton in this region in February. Planting reached 5,9% of its planned area, which corresponds to 0,43% of the total in Goiás.

The survey is carried out by the Cotton Culture Incentive Fund in Goiás (Fialgo), which monitors planting on cotton farms throughout the state.
