Wheat hat production guarantees income for Erechim family
The making of wheat straw crafts is now in the third generation of the Wlodarkievcz family.
Producer João Jacobs Ferreira, 50 years old, with crops in Três Pinheiros and Sananduva, closely followed the lectures that Cotrijal promoted in Lagoa Vermelha on Tuesday night (6), following the meeting agenda of the Monitora Program – Todos Contra o Bug. "It's been at least two harvests that the stink bug has been following us and the number of insects in the crop has been increasing. I agree with Cotrijal, it's time to act", commented the producer, who cultivates soybeans on 150 hectares.
Around 120 producers from Lagoa Vermelha, Many Capões, Capão Bonito do Sul, Esmeralda, Pinhal da Serra, Ibiaçá, Cruzaltinha and Caseiros participated in the program, at the AABB headquarters in Lagoa Vermelha. They received information about research results and strategies to combat the pest and were alerted to the great damage caused by the stink bug to soybean crops.
For about an hour, Cotrijal's Plant Production Manager, Juliano Recalcatti, and Detec coordinator, Fernando Martins, presented information that proves that the stink bug is a pest that is increasingly present in crops and causing damage and losses. “This is work carried out through many hands, with several partners. Always with the aim of promoting the best solution to combat this pest. Now it is the turn of producers, members of the cooperative, to join this cause and join this war against bedbugs”, said Juliano Tiago Recalcatti.
WHAT IS MONITOR
The Monitora Program, whose slogan is "Your crops under control", aims to provide technical information, monitoring and recommendations for producers assisted by Cotrijal, on difficult-to-control pests. Through it, the cooperative will provide its members with a differentiated service with high added value, appropriate for decision-making related to management and control.
For the 2016/17 harvest, the focus is on developing actions to combat bedbugs. The campaign's slogan is “Everyone against the bedbug”.
