Corteva Agriscience participates in the 51st edition of the Brazilian Congress of Phytopathology, in Recife, Pernambuco, promoted by the Brazilian Society of Phytopathology and the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). This is the main Phytopathological event in Brazil and one of the most important in Latin America, and brings together researchers, teachers, students and professionals from across the country. The congress has as its central theme “Advances in Phytopathology in the Genomic Era” and has a comprehensive scientific program consisting of lectures, round tables, mini-courses and works in the form of posters, providing debates and discussions.

The main sponsor of the event, Corteva presents the Verter insecticide to the market, indicated for the control of aphids, whiteflies and psyllids in tomato, melon, watermelon and citrus crops. The new product features the active ingredient recently registered in the country, sulfoxaflor. Among the characteristics of the technology, the following stand out: shock action and long period of control, systemic action (acts on the plant's vascular system), translaminar (crosses the plant surface and reaches the pest even on the opposite side of the leaf), selectivity to natural enemies and the low dose required for application.

Visitors will also be able to learn more about Zorvec Active technology, whose active ingredient belongs to a new chemical group of fungicides that is in the registration phase by Corteva, a tool for controlling late blight on potatoes (Phytophthora infestans) and other various fruit and vegetable crops. , scheduled for launch in 2022. “Being present at an event like this allows us to listen and discuss with academia, consultants and producers who are directly in the production chain, build and develop the best technological solutions for agriculture”, says Alison Rampazzo , Horticulture, Coffee and Citrus Marketing Manager at Corteva Agriscience.

Anyone who visits the Corteva stand will also have access to solutions for controlling the main diseases that affect Brazilian crops: the fungicides Vessarya and Aproach Prima. “We want to show soybean farmers that it is possible to carry out adequate management, which we usually call champion management, which uses efficient strategies to control diseases, with preventive applications, rotation of fungicides and respecting the leaflet guidelines”, explains Marcus Fiorini, Leader of fungicides from Corteva AgriscienceTM.

On the first day of the event, researcher Fabrício Packer gave a presentation to address innovation and new features that the company has been developing for the market. “The Congress is an excellent opportunity to discuss with experts and the entire academic community the main problems in the field and bring the best solutions aligned to the needs of Brazilian agriculture”, adds Fiorini.
