Corn values fell again in some regions monitored by Cepea, especially in the Center-West and Rio Grande do Sul. The pressure comes from the good development of the summer harvest, which has been favored by the climate, and also from exports in slow pace. In consumer markets, such as in São Paulo, prices continue to increase, influenced by the retreat of sellers. Between November 16th and 23rd, corn (negotiation between companies) in the region of Sorriso (MT) depreciated 1,4%, to R$ 19,19/60 kg bag on Friday, 23rd.

In the South, corn prices paid to producers fell 2,3% in Santa Rosa (RS), with the cereal traded at R$31,94/sc on Friday. In São Paulo, the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa Indicator (Campinas region) increased 1,3%, closing at R$ 37,30/bag on the 23rd. In this case, some buyers are already indicating the need to replenish stocks for the end of year. The supply from other states, especially the Midwest, has been lower and concerns about shipping limit business. www.cepea.esalq.usp.br
