Domestic corn prices have shown different behavior among the regions monitored by Cepea, reflecting regional offers and demands. As for the pace of business, speculation regarding the impact of irregular rains on the development of crops has caused producers consulted by Cepea to postpone the sale of large lots and only negotiate on an occasional basis.

Buyers, in turn, have not yet resumed acquisitions in a more significant way, which, in a way, supports internal prices. In the São Paulo market, Cepea research shows that values weakened this week, influenced by the entry of cereal from other states. Producers in the state of São Paulo remain withdrawn, still cautious about the summer harvest and awaiting greater buyer interest, which limits the drop in values. Between January 4th and 11th, the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa Indicator (Campinas region – SP) fell 1,3%, closing at R$ 38,78/60 kg bag on Friday, 11th. www.cepea.esalq.usp.br
