Coopertradição begins receiving the 2024/25 bean harvest
The forecast is for a 10 to 15% growth in productivity, compared to the previous cycle
Producers from western Paraná are gathered in Marechal Cândido Rondon for the Agroshow Copagril 2025, which traditionally marks the beginning of the major events in the technological and commercial calendar for agriculture in the state of Paraná. With the motto “The Future is Agriculture”, the meeting at the Experimental Station, which began this Wednesday (08) and continues until Friday (10), brings together experiments and new technologies for agriculture and livestock, enabling farmers to better plan their harvests.
"The feeling of this visit is the most pleasant possible, very positive, the first Agroshow Copagril, the first agricultural event in Paraná and the government could not be absent", said the Secretary of State for Agriculture and Supply, Natalino Avance de Souza. "The proposal to bring information about artificial intelligence, the development of an increasingly sustainable agriculture is fundamental for the success and future of our activity".
He highlighted that agriculture is the state's main activity. "We need to take even greater care of agriculture on this path to sustainability, because sustainability today is no longer a luxury, it is a necessity not only for the appreciation of international markets, but mainly to have an activity that is perpetuated."
According to the secretary, the day-to-day activities in the field do not always allow farmers to recycle their knowledge. “Fortunately, events of this nature are here to stay, to bring farmers closer to knowledge, innovation, and to doing good business,” he said. “I would say that the future starts here.”
In addition to being free events, they make it easier for producers to talk to professionals who will explain the results of the experiments. “The growing investments that are being made in field days and technological shows are giving a big boost to what we are harvesting, which is the result of the growth of agriculture,” said Natalino.
Copagril CEO Eloi Darci Podkowa highlighted that the cooperative intends to give this annual event a new identity, reflecting the evolution and commitment to the future of the agricultural sector. That is why it is now called Agroshow Copagril, leaving behind the name Field Day adopted until last year.
“Our event lasts three days, with the participation of over 200 companies and an audience of 15 visitors. It was time to renew the name of the event,” he explained. “Agroshow Copagril reflects our vision of innovation, the future of agribusiness and the fundamental role it plays in the sustainable development of the Cooperative’s entire area of operation.”
The goal is to increase integration between producers, suppliers and everyone involved in the agricultural production chain. "We want to find alternatives that are viable and profitable for associated producers," said Podkowa. That is why a circuit was created within the Experimental Station, which covers approximately 12 hectares, so that producers have access to new developments in the field and in equipment and inputs.
One of the planned advances is to intensify the carbon credit program. According to the president, in the first two years, still in the experimental phase, around R$2 million was distributed to producers. By 2025, the intention is to reinforce practices and use sustainable and smarter technologies to increase credits per hectare and to be able to receive R$25 million for carbon retention. "It is a negligible cost compared to the extra gain for the producer, which can even exceed the harvest," he said. "We have gone from being considered polluting villains to showing that we are carbon retainers and that we help society.
