RS 2024/25 Harvest: rains alleviate water stress in soybeans and corn
Phytosanitary conditions require intensified monitoring
The challenges overcome demonstrate the potential of the cooperation generated by Copacol, which has reached new records. Revenue increased by 8% compared to the previous year, reaching R$10,6 billion: a result that provides opportunities for cooperative members, employees and the entire community, through the preservation of natural resources, professionalization of the workforce and cultural and educational projects.
The result was presented by the CEO, Valter Pitol, during the AGO (Ordinary General Assembly) held this Friday in Cafelândia, with significant participation of the cooperative members, in addition to the president of Ocepar (Organization of Cooperatives of the State of Paraná), José Roberto Ricken. “We had record harvests, with excellent performance in the field. We celebrated advances in each of the activities, with shared knowledge and improvement of technologies. We achieved these results thanks to the union of everyone. We remain determined to 'Create value for cooperative members, employees, customers and partners through cooperation in agribusiness'. This is our purpose, which guarantees the necessary security to produce with excellence and transform realities”, says Pitol.
Copacol's traditional payment of surpluses was the largest in its 61-year history: R$270 million was paid to members, a 64% increase compared to the previous year, according to each member's participation in the Cooperative's activities. After an advance of 50% of the amount in December of last year, the Cooperative announced during its AGM that the remaining installment would be paid next Tuesday, the 4th.
Poultry farming is the activity with the largest share of Copacol's gross revenue, accounting for 52,2% of the total. With record harvests, production reached 2 million tons of grains received at Copacol Units. With 9,6 thousand members and 16,2 thousand employees, all of the Cooperative's activities, from cereal production to food sales, contribute to the development of the cities that are part of this cycle of opportunities, and also receive an increase in the volume of taxes. In 2024, Copacol transferred R$390 million in taxes, which are reflected in investments in public works, education and health throughout the area covered. "This positive result is the result of competent management and also of the union of the members. When everyone works together, there is a strengthening of the common purpose and Copacol is an example in what it does, with significant growth that reflects the importance of our sector", says Ricken.
With seven Sales Branches (Bebedouro, SP; Cafelândia, PR; Campo Grande, MS; Brasília, DF; Curitiba, PR; São Paulo, SP; and Rio de Janeiro, RJ), Copacol is present with 40 Grain, Input and Seed Units in Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul.
In total, members will receive R$2 per bag of soybeans, R$1 per bag of corn, R$0,50 per bag of wheat and R$15 per bag of coffee, as set by the Cooperative. There will also be a payment of 3,6% on the amount purchased in inputs and 2,7% on supermarket and feed. The surplus also includes 0,10 cents per liter of milk, R$9,13 per piglet and R$0,36 per kilo of pork (reference R$99/head) delivered to Central Frimesa.
Per bird, the total is R$0,1960 (head), Cobb eggs 0,089 cents per unit and AP eggs 0,078 cents per unit. In fish farming, the amount transferred is R$0,0227 per juvenile unit and R$0,3315 per kilo of fish.
