The Regional Coffee Growers' Cooperative in Guaxupé will host the 14th Coffee and Climate Forum on August 7th, bringing together experts to discuss weather conditions and their impact on coffee production. The event will be held at Cooxupé's headquarters in Guaxupé, Minas Gerais, from 14:17 PM to XNUMX:XNUMX PM, and will be broadcast live on the Coffee Hub and the cooperative's YouTube channel.

Aimed at producers, industry professionals, and scholars of coffee growing and agronomy, this year's Forum focuses on analyzing the 2025 harvest and projections for 2026.

The opening will be attended by the executive board of Cooxupé and mediated by agricultural engineer Mário Ferraz de Araújo, Technical Development Manager of the cooperative.

Among the speakers will be Guilherme Vinícius Teixeira, an agricultural engineer and Geoprocessing Coordinator at Cooxupé. He will discuss climate challenges and coffee resilience in the cooperative's operating area, which encompasses more than 360 municipalities, analyzing the 2025/2026 harvest.

The climate forecasts for the 2026 harvest and what to expect from the new La Niña will be discussed by Marco Antônio dos Santos, agrometeorologist and founding partner of Rural Clima.

Professor José Donizeti Alves, professor of Plant Physiology at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), will present the impact of climate on the 2025 harvest and the challenges for physiological management in 2026.

"The Coffee and Climate Forum provides relevant technical information about the current harvest and what the next harvest is expected to be like, through assessments by speakers who are experts in their fields. This information is of great importance to our members and also to the market, as the weather has been a major challenge for all producers, affecting both production and productivity of coffee plantations," says Mário Ferraz de Araújo.
