Conflict in Eastern Europe raises external corn prices

In Brazil, value remains stable

The war between Russia and Ukraine has driven up prices sharply grain international markets, given that the conflict generated concerns about the global supply of products such as corn and wheat – tensions in Eastern Europe harm cereal exports from the Black Sea region.

In the domestic market, according to information from Cepea, despite external valuations, corn prices remained practically stable in the Brazil last week. Buyers stayed away from the market, and sellers continued to focus on field activities, whether harvesting the summer or when sowing the second crop.

Between February 18th and 25th, the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa Indicator (region of Campinas – SP) rose 0,88%, closing at R$ 97,34/sc of 60 kg on Friday.
