The Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) is promoting a series of regional meetings with federations, unions, sectoral entities and rural producers to raise the sector's main proposals for the Agricultural and Livestock Plan (PAP) 2024/2025. The first meeting takes place today, at the headquarters of the Agriculture Federation of the State of Paraná (Faep), in Curitiba, to gather the demands of the South region.

The meeting's agenda includes proposals for rural credit, policies to support commercialization, capital markets and risk management instruments. The CNA's National Agricultural Policy Commission will coordinate the debates in the five regions of the country.

“The objective of the meetings is to discuss specific proposals from producers, which meet the needs and particularities of each region in the short and long term, as well as to consolidate contributions that will be forwarded to the formulation of the next Harvest Plan”, stated the technical advisor at CNA, Guilherme Rios.

The debates in the North region will take place on Wednesday (6), in Porto Velho (RO), and in the Central West region, on Friday (8), in Campo Grande (MS). The meeting for the Northeast region will be in Teixeira de Freitas (BA) on the 15th. The demands of the Southeast region will be raised in São Paulo (SP) and Matopiba in Balsas (MA). The dates are yet to be announced.

All proposals will be consolidated in a document that will be delivered to the Ministry of Agriculture and other federal government authorities as a contribution to the preparation of the Agricultural and Livestock Plan (PAP) 2024/2025.
