VI MasterCitrus Symposium presents work on disease control
The studies on floral rot, citrus canker, greening and leprosis contribute to the management of these diseases in the field
The open, simple and accessible connectivity solution promoted by ConectarAGRO has been directly contributing to bringing internet to Brazilian agricultural fields. With more than 1,6 million hectares connected, the initiative is now evolving and is about to become an association, formed by AGCO, Climate FieldView, CNH Industrial, Jacto, Nokia, Solinftec, TIM and Trimble. The news will be announced at Futurecom, the largest digital transformation event in Latin America, which took place between the 28th and 31st, in São Paulo (SP).
On the occasion, the eight companies will participate in panels and debates and will exhibit, at the ConectarAGRO stand, their respective solutions for the agricultural and telecommunications markets.
And it was at Futurecom last year that the companies that lead ConectarAGRO began talking with the sole purpose of contributing to increasing the connectivity of machines and people in Brazil's agricultural areas.
The diversity, competence and common interest of companies created an environment to better understand the problem of connectivity in the Brazilian countryside, through its different angles, contributing to generating effective strategies to solve it, benefiting national agribusiness.
At the end of April 2019, the same ideas became reality and ConectarAGRO was born, an initiative that arrived to promote a favorable ecosystem of access to mobile internet in the most diverse agricultural regions of the country, using the 4G network in the 700MHz band, technology global coverage that allows coverage with the best compromise between coverage and capacity.
Now, when the legal and administrative procedures are finalized, the initiative will take its next step with the “birth” of a non-profit civil association. Without negotiating any product, its objective will continue to be to bring internet access to the countryside and promote public connectivity policies for the sector, in addition to further favoring the emergence of new solutions for agribusiness through the various AgTechs that emerge in this ecosystem.
In the near future, the association hopes to expand its network through new supporters. The rules for admitting new members will soon be made available. Meanwhile, interested parties can now look for the ConectarAGRO stand at Futurecom for more information.
Other details about ConectarAGRO are also available on the website www.conectaragro.com.br. Information about the specific products and services of each company that supports this initiative is available on their respective websites and relationship channels.
ConectarAGRO promotes not only the connection of machines, but also the connection of people, allowing greater use of the solution through this flexibility. Additionally, by following an open concept of a global standard, the promoted solution offers even more benefits in relation to other technological solutions available on the market, which follow closed concepts, which limit their use and generate investment insecurity on the part of the farmer, making their adoption difficult. on a large scale.
With the promoted solution, regardless of the segment in which it operates, rural producers can fully benefit from the precision agriculture, digital and automation resources available today, in addition to having access to a multitude of new products and services enabled with availability of connectivity.
In this way, ConectarAGRO, promoting connectivity in the field, is fundamental for optimizing machines and farming, helping Brazilian agribusiness to take a new leap in productivity and further increase its competitiveness on the international scene.
TIM, a telecommunications operator associated with ConectarAGRO, estimates that the investment to implement the technology is up to half a bag of soybeans per hectare – which represents a low investment compared to the benefits that will be obtained by the farmer.
