Conab points to drop in corn exports in February

According to the new Logistics Bulletin from the National Supply Company (Conab) released today (31/3), corn exports registered a significant drop in February 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Soybean shipments more than doubled compared to last year. The Port of Santos, Arco Norte and Paranaguá were the main shipping points for these commodities. The heated demand for transportation and the challenges in shipping continue to increase logistics costs.

Fertilizer imports also grew in the first months of 2025, in line with preparations for planting the second corn and winter cereal crops. The ports of the Northern Arc increased their share, while Paranaguá and Santos maintained volumes similar to the previous year.

In the case of soybean meal, export projections have driven the crushing of the oilseed, in a scenario of competition with the United States and Argentina. In the accumulated period of January and February, export volumes remained close to last year's, with Santos, Paranaguá and Rio Grande leading the movement.
