The Cerrado Mineiro Region (RCM), renowned for the production of high-quality coffee and a pioneer in the Denomination of Origin (DO) of the grain in Brazil, has just signed a strategic partnership with Cubo Itaú, the most relevant hub for promoting technological entrepreneurship From Latin America. With a unique governance model, structured in cooperatives and associations, RCM serves as an inspiration for other Brazilian regions, with 4.500 producers in 55 municipalities.
Cubo Itaú, created by Itaú Unibanco and Redpoint eventures, is a non-profit institution that, since 2015, has been selecting and promoting startups with high growth potential. Through connections with corporations, investors and strategic partners, Cubo Itaú supports the development of technological solutions in the region and globally.
According to the executive director of the Federation of Coffee Growers of the Cerrado, Juliano Tarabal, this partnership aims to boost coffee farming in the Cerrado Mineiro, identifying and developing innovative projects that can improve the productivity and efficiency of coffee producers.
The collaboration promises to bring significant benefits to the coffee production chain, further consolidating the Cerrado Mineiro Region's prominent position on the national and international scene. "We hope that startups supported by Cubo Itaú can develop technologies that improve the stages of coffee production, from planting to marketing, collaborating directly with producers in the Region. Access to new tools can reduce costs and optimize processes, having a positive impact the local economy and environmental sustainability. The partnership between Cubo Itaú and the Cerrado Mineiro Region is a milestone in the union between technology and agriculture, pointing to a more productive and sustainable future for Brazilian coffee farming", highlights Tarabal.
“We are excited about this partnership between Cubo and Cerrado Mineiro and the opportunity to have such talented technological entrepreneurs contributing to the challenges of coffee production, one of the country's main commodities. And more than that, we now have a café with Cubo’s personality and which is already a success in the community”, adds Paulo Costa, CEO of Cubo Itaú.
The technological and entrepreneurial scene takes on a new flavor with the introduction of Cerrado Mineiro coffee at Cubo Itaú. This partnership promises to increase not only the visibility, but also the prestige of the region. With an exclusive blend developed by RCM, Cubo's floors now offer a unique sensory experience for the approximately 700 people who pass through its facilities daily.
From now on, Cubo Itaú joins the list of spaces with its own coffee blend. Community experts meticulously chose nuances of caramel, milk chocolate and nuts, resulting in a balanced combination that pleases the most demanding palates. With critical acidity, dense body and medium finish, each cup is a sensorial journey that elevates the simple act of drinking coffee to an incomparable flavor experience.
The announcement of the partnership took place on May 28, during the event “Café ao Cubo - An immersion in Cerrado Mineiro technologies and terroir”, held at the Cubo Itaú headquarters in São Paulo.
