Ceradis BV is in the process of negotiating to contract distribution and sales in Brazil of the fungicide Ceramax, registered for the treatment of soybean seeds. Its vice president of marketing and sales, Jan Stechmann, is expected to come to the country in February. It is not yet known when the product will be available to farmers.

Ceramax is a biological fungicide based on natamycin, registered in Brazil for the treatment of soybean seeds against Fusarium solani (reg. 34022). According to information from the company, it has the same effectiveness as conventional products. And it can be stored for up to two years.

The company informs that it has a patent for the use of Ceramax as a fungicide for soybeans worldwide -- and in Brazil.

Ceradis' business system focuses on development. Its scientists do not look for new molecules, but work to find alternative uses for those already known. Aspects related to formulation and marketing are usually contracted with other companies.
