The Capal Agroindustrial Cooperative unit in Arapoti (PR) recorded a historic record in the volume of grains received in a single day, on March 21. In total, 7.559,690 tons of corn, soybeans, and soybean seeds were accounted for, with a flow of 278 trucks.

According to the cooperative, the difference in the number lies in the origin of the shipment: the volume was composed exclusively of direct deliveries from cooperative members, without accounting for transfers between units. In addition to the significant quantity, the operational sector highlighted that the quality of the delivered grains was classified as excellent, reinforcing the high production standard of this harvest.

The logistics organization, resulting from strategic investments in system improvements that transformed the service flow, is the main reason for the record. Weighing, which previously took about five minutes, is now done in just one. Data management allows for real-time yard monitoring. Furthermore, Capal has a monitoring system that can provide producers with detailed data, such as the exact entry and exit times of each truck.

"Our team is fully committed. For the cooperative member, all this investment generates the agility they expect from Capal: a continuous flow, with an organized yard and cohesive information," stated the operational coordinator, Carlos Faria.

Grain receiving and its challenges

Valquíria Demarchi Arns, responsible for industrial operations at Capal, highlighted that the high production of the associates and the concentration of the harvest required a joint effort in receiving the corn and soybean crops.

"The operation demanded attention to segregation, especially given the classification rules geared towards export and the mandatory issuance of electronic invoices by rural producers. All this work was carried out in synergy between the teams involved, guaranteeing performance in this short receiving period," he concluded.
