CNH invests €21 million in simulation and logistics in Italy

CNH has inaugurated a virtual simulation ecosystem and an automated AutoStore warehouse at its San Matteo research and development center in Modena, Italy. The investment totals €21 million. The company states that the facility accelerates product development and improves parts delivery in Europe.

The new simulation system adopts a virtual methodology from the earliest stages of the project. CNH reports that the tool identifies design anomalies before physical production and reduces development time by more than 30%. The goal includes decreasing engineering risks, optimizing field validations, and reducing emissions related to testing.

The ecosystem brings together three technological pillars. The dynamic simulator uses a six-axis immersive platform to test vehicle behavior. The Multi-Dyno cell validates advanced powertrain systems and electrical components with virtual models. The sensor test track features climate simulation to verify precision sensors and autonomous functions.

The automated logistics unit uses AutoStore robots for parts retrieval. According to CNH, the system guarantees availability within 24 hours for more than 1.200 dealerships and workshops. The retrieval time has dropped from 15 minutes to less than 30 seconds. The capacity reaches 550 parts per hour.

The company also reports a 70% increase in storage density and an 85% reduction in physical effort. Annual energy consumption has fallen by 93% compared to the previous system.
