CNA brings together experts to discuss energy transition.

The event will be held on Wednesday (July 8th), starting at 2 pm, in the Confederation's auditorium, in Brasília (DF).

The Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) will hold the 4th edition of “Agroenergy – Sustainable Energy Transition” on Wednesday (July 8th), with support from the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa Agroenergia). The event will take place from 2 pm onwards, in the CNA auditorium, in Brasília (DF).

In this edition, the seminar will focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and biobunker (sustainable marine fuel), strategic themes for the decarbonization of the aviation and maritime sectors. The objective is to discuss opportunities for Brazilian agribusiness and its contribution to advancing the energy transition.

The program will feature an opening lecture and three panel discussions. The presentation "Strategic Context of SAF and Biobunker" will be led by Inpasa's Vice President of Trading, Gustavo Mariano.

The first roundtable will address “Market, demand and opportunities for Brazilian agribusiness”. The debate will be moderated by the Business Director of Embrapa, Alexandre Alonso, and will bring together the Head of Biorefining at the Riograndense Refinery, Flávio Mingorance, the Biofuels Manager at Caramuru Alimentos, Janaina Lemes, and the professor from the University of São Paulo (USP), Glaucia Mendes.

Next, the experts will discuss "Public policies, regulation and certification," moderated by the CNA's deputy technical director, Maciel Aleomir.

Participating in the discussion are federal deputy Arnaldo Jardim, the Program Director of the National Secretariat of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), Marlon Arraes, and the advisor to the Coordinating Committee for International Maritime Organization (IMO) Affairs, Flávio Mathuyi.

Closing the program, the third panel will address "Challenges and opportunities for the consolidation of SAF and biobunkers." The moderator will be Eduarda Lee, technical advisor at CNA, and will include the National Secretary of Ports of the Ministry of Ports and Airports, Alex Sandro de Ávila, the president of Airbus Brazil, Gilberto Peralta, and the executive manager of Integrated Energy Transition Management at Petrobras, William Nozaki.
