CNA and Mapa debate soybean classification standard

Dialogue is necessary to reach a consensus on possible changes to standards

The president of the National Commission for Cereals, Fibers and Oilseeds of the CNA, Ricardo Arioli, met, on Tuesday (14/02), with the director of the Department of Inspection of Products of Plant Origin of the Ministry of Agriculture, Hugo Caruso, to discuss the review of soybean classification standards.

According to Arioli, debates on the topic need to be related to commercial issues, seeking to provide more clarity for valuing quality and pricing grain. Therefore, a dialogue is necessary to reach a consensus on possible changes to the standards.

The meeting was attended by the director of the Department at the Ministry, Hugo Caruso, the coordinator of Plant Quality Regulation at Mapa, Karina Fontes Coelho Leandro, the coordinator of Animal Production at CNA, João Paulo Franco, and the technical advisor of the National Cereals Commission, Fibers and Oilseeds, Tiago Pereira.
