Young farmers and rural producers from various regions of Rio Grande do Sul gathered on Thursday, August 15th, in Chapadão do Sul (RS), for the first edition of the "Encontro Jovens da Agropecuária", an event promoted by the National Service of Rural Learning (Senar) and Rural Union, with support from the Famasul Youth Commission and MNP Jovem, which aims to debate the renewal of agricultural leaders in the region.
Among the speakers was Sarita Junqueira Rodas, who is an example of a rural producer who took over the family business at a young age, experiencing family succession at the age of 25, with the early death of her father in 2008, renewing the company's management. “To develop a good succession I went to study. I took courses inside and outside the country and immersed myself in the family business. Good management and care translate into profit and productivity,” she says.
At the event, Sarita explored the directions necessary for the effectiveness of family businesses. Due to her exemplary business management, she was the first and only woman on the Board of Fundecitrus (Paulista Citriculture Defense Fund) and also on the Board of Directors of Montecitrus Traiding de Suco de Laranja, two large organizations in the segment. Sarita also held the position of vice-president of ABCT (Brazilian Association of Tabapuã Breeders), is the manager of the birthplace of the genuinely Brazilian Tabapuã cattle breed, developed at the Água Milagrosa Farm of the Junqueira Rodas Group and also owner of the company Prossiga – Family governance .
Another who spoke about succession is Maria Otilia Zardo, who presented a case on the topic and Xico Graziano, who debated the challenge of renewal in agriculture.
