Bunge, one of the global leaders in agribusiness, food and ingredients, has resumed wheat milling operations at Moinho de Brasília. With a processing capacity of 300 tons per day, the unit will serve the national market by producing wheat flour for baking, industries, final consumption, as well as wheat bran.

More than 40 jobs were created in the milling area, whose activities began in the first week of June, following all health and safety protocols. Opened in 2000, the mill has only operated the Distribution Center (DC) since 2018, when grinding was suspended for suitability studies. Including the CD, the unit now employs more than 60 employees.

"We have the health and safety of our employees as an absolute priority in all our operations and we are happy to contribute to the creation of jobs and the stimulation of local businesses at such a challenging time. With the grinding in Brasília, we strengthen our position as origination (purchase) to make better use of local wheat production and we offer a more agile and efficient service structure to our customers in the Central-West and some states in the North of the country, thus improving our competitiveness", assesses the vice-president of Bunge Wheat and Derivatives, Junior Justino.

In addition to the Federal District (DF), Moinho de Brasília's products will also serve the states of Goiás (GO), Mato Grosso (MT), Acre (AC), Rondônia (RO) and Tocantins (TO).

With seven mills spread across the country, Bunge is the largest buyer and processor of wheat in Brazil, processing more than 1 million tons per year. The company is also a leader in the supply of flours and premixes for baking and industry.
