Bunge Brasil announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a minority stake in Agrícola Alvorada, a grain and agricultural products resale company. The transaction is strategic for Bunge, which strengthens its operations, leveraging its grain origination business.

Agrícola Alvorada, headquartered in Primavera do Leste (MT), has 8 branches in 5 municipalities in Mato Grosso, being strategically positioned in relation to suppliers, farmers and end customers. The company's expertise expands Bunge's reach in the region's small and medium-sized producer segment. “This is a very interesting transaction for Bunge. We are always looking for opportunities that contribute to our objective of bringing more value to our relationships with producers and creating new ways to go to market”, said Raúl Padilla, president and CEO of Bunge Brasil.

Diego Fernandes, Vice President of Agribusiness at Bunge Brasil, reinforces the strategic importance of the business. “We are excited about the benefits this agreement creates. Agrícola Alvorada’s expertise brings us closer to our partners and constitutes a competitive advantage for the business, boosting our origination.”

“We believe that by joining a company like Bunge, which shares our commitment to differentiated service to partners and sustainability, strengthens our business and maximizes opportunities,” said Jarbas Weis, president of Agrícola Alvorada.
