Tests carried out in experimental and commercial areas in recent harvests support the good performance of the broad-spectrum herbicide Leale SC, produced by the Italian-Japanese company Sipcam Nichino Brasil. The results of these studies, according to the experts and researchers involved, confirm the product among the cutting-edge tools on the market for controlling the main sugarcane invaders, including some considered difficult to control, in the semi-dry, semi-humid and humid seasons.

According to the company, the herbicide has an official recommendation for application on sugarcane and ratoon sugarcane and provides effective results in the control of invaders that hinder the full establishment of the crop, in addition to causing significant economic damage to the sugar-energy sector, such as colonial grass, -colchão, brachiaria grass, guitar strings, merremias and others.

According to agronomist Sérgio Camargo, from the market development area at Sipcam Nichino, the Leale SC herbicide has a prolonged residual, a different characteristic that keeps the crop free from so-called weed competition.

“The action of the herbicide, systemic, occurs in the initial post-emergence and pre-emergence of invasive plants”, he reinforces. According to Camargo, the company recommends applying Leale SC in the pre-emergent post-planting of the crop or right after harvest, before the ratoon sugarcane begins to sprout.
