In May, a delegation of 35 representatives from the Brazilian fruit industry visited Shanghai to strengthen trade ties and understand the demands of the Chinese market. The mission was part of the Frutas do Brasil project, by ApexBrasil and Abrafrutas, and focused especially on the melon and grape production chains - fruits already authorized for export to China.
The program included technical visits, meetings with authorities and participation in the Sial China 2025 fair. “This mission was strategic to promote Brazilian fruits and boost development in the semi-arid region of the Northeast,” highlighted Laudemir Müller, from ApexBrasil. The president of Abrafrutas, Guilherme Coelho, also celebrated the progress and confirmed the entity’s presence at the next edition of the fair, with its own stand.
In addition to trade promotion, the mission resulted in the signing of an agreement with the China Chamber of Commerce, reinforcing cooperation between the sectors. In 2024, Brazil already exported more than 1 million tons of fruit, with revenue exceeding US$ 1,2 billion.
The sector's internationalization strategy continues with the Exporta Mais Brasil Frutas Frescas program, which takes place in August during ExpoFruit 2025, in Rio Grande do Norte.
