Five large Brazilian agribusiness companies are coming together. Amaggi, Coopercitrus, Souza and Lucas Participações, Viola Participações and Tecnobeef announced the creation of a company producing organomineral fertilizers. Sustainability and technology are central pillars. The first unit will be in Altair, São Paulo. Initial production is estimated at 200 thousand tons per year.
Crops such as soybeans, corn, sugarcane, citrus and coffee are main targets. But the company will offer solutions for different cultures.
According to a statement from the companies, the Altair unit will generate around 150 direct jobs and are expected in the first phase.
The merger will be submitted to the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade).
The Tecnobeef Group operates in the production and sale of products related to animal feed. Through the company Agro Pastoril Paschoal Campanelli S.A., it has activities in the agricultural sector with cattle confinement and agricultural activities in the cultivation of sugar cane.
The Souza and Lucas is a company that is not yet operational. This is a "holding"; has equity interests in other companies.
The Viola Group operates mainly in the cultivation of grains (cotton, soybeans and soybeans) and forests (eucalyptus) in the regions of Mato Grosso and Minas Gerais.
Founded on May 14, 1976, the Coopercitrus cooperative has activities in the sale of agricultural inputs, machinery and implements. With more than 60 branches, technical support and structures to serve the most diverse crops in the States of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Goiás, it has a membership portfolio of more than 38 thousand farmers.
The Amaggi Group operates in the production and sale of agricultural commodities, notably soybeans, corn, cotton; also in seeds and fertilizers, as well as in the logistics and port segments. It undertakes activities in the North, South and Central-West regions of Brazil.
