Brazilian coffee to record highest VBP (Value of Production) in history in 2025.

Brazilian coffee farming is expected to end the 2025 coffee year with the highest Gross Production Value (VBP) in its historical series. The estimated revenue for the period is R$ 114,86 billion, a result that surpasses the previous record, registered in 2024 (R$ 78,55 billion), by 46,2%, according to a survey of Gross Production Value – VBP October/2025, released by the Secretariat of Agricultural Policy (SPA/Mapa).

The significant increase confirms 2025 as a milestone year for the sector, driven by the two species cultivated in the country: Coffea arabica e Coffea canephora (robusta + conilon).

Arabica accounts for 72% of revenue.

Arabica coffee remains the cornerstone of the national coffee industry. For 2025, the Gross Production Value (VBP) for this species is projected at R$ 82,96 billion, a 45,8% increase compared to the R$ 56,88 billion calculated in 2024. This amount represents 72,23% of the sector's total estimated revenue.

Canephora grows 47% and reinforces national performance.

Robusta and Conilon coffee production is expected to generate R$ 31,89 billion in 2025, a 47,2% increase over 2024 revenue (R$ 21,66 billion). This group accounts for 18,87% of the total VBP (Value of Production) of coffee in the country.

Minas Gerais leads with more than half of the country's VBP (Value of Agricultural Production).

Among the producing states, Minas Gerais maintains absolute leadership, with an estimated revenue of R$ 59,03 billion, equivalent to 51,4% of the total VBP (Value of Production) of coffee. Following are:

• Espírito Santo – R$ 29,22 billion (25,4%)
• São Paulo – R$ 10,77 billion (9,4%)
• Bahia – R$ 7,81 billion (6,8%)
• Rondônia – R$ 4,27 billion (3,7%)

The five states recorded their highest values ​​ever in their respective historical series in 2025.

The Southeast region accounts for 87% of national revenue.

When considering performance by Brazilian regions, the Southeast dominates in coffee production value (VBP):

• Southeast – R$ 99,92 billion (87%)
• Northeast – R$ 7,84 billion (6,8%)
• North – R$ 4,45 billion (3,9%)
• Sul - R$ 1,69 billion (1,5%)
• Midwest - R$ 936,9 million (<1%)

The figures are part of the VBP October/2025 report, prepared by the Secretariat of Agricultural Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa).
