Uruguay highlights Brazilian rural work safety program at symposium
Meeting brings together government body and agronomy school in that country
In November, the 5th Brazilian Weed Science Championship took place. The event is promoted by the Brazilian Society of Weed Science (SBCPD) and was held at the Experimental Research Station of Corteva Agriscience in Mogi Mirim/SP.
The event had the participation of 9 teams, the largest number since its first edition, representing Universities from five states: Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos (UNIFEOB), Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD), State University of Maringá (UEM), University of São Paulo - Luiz de Queiroz Higher School of Agronomy (USP/ESALQ), University of Araraquara (UNIARA), Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita (FCA/UNESP – Botucatu).
Much more than a competition, the Brazilian Weed Science Championship It is an opportunity for students to interact with students, technicians and researchers from other universities and companies, being able to show their capabilities and skills in the area of Weeds.
The event was exclusively sponsored by the company Corteva Agriscience and the Organizing Committee formed by Professors Carlos Eduardo Schaedler (IFSul/ Campus Bagé), Naiara Guerra (UFSC), Camila Ferreira de Pinho (UFRRJ), Anderson Luis Nunes (IFRS/ Campus Sertão), Arthur Arrobas Martins Barroso (UFPR), together with Researchers Augusto Kalsing and Lucas Perim (Corteva Agriscience).
