In March 2025, Brazil achieved the second highest value of agribusiness exports for the month since the beginning of the historical series, totaling US$ 15,6 billion. The result represents an increase of 12,5% compared to the same period in 2024, with the sector accounting for 53,6% of all Brazilian exports in the month.
The growth was driven mainly by the increase in export volume, which grew by 10,2%, and by international prices, which rose by 2,1%.
Agriculture Minister Carlos Fávaro highlighted the importance of agribusiness for the national economy. “These figures confirm that we are promoting the growth of agriculture responsibly, sustainably and with our eyes on new markets and opportunities for products with greater added value,” he said.
The main products exported in March were soybeans (US$ 5,7 billion, up 7%), green coffee (US$ 1,4 billion, up 92,7%), fresh beef (US$ 1,1 billion, up 40,1%), cellulose (US$ 988 million, up 25,4%) and fresh chicken meat (US$ 772,3 million, up 9,6%).
In addition to traditional items, the government has been promoting the export of products with high growth potential, such as gelatins, instant coffee, orange essential oil, black pepper and pet food, which have reached export records and have growth prospects, especially in Asian, European and North American markets.
In the first quarter of 2025, Brazilian agribusiness exports totaled US$ 37,8 billion, an increase of 2,1% compared to the previous year, the highest value ever recorded for the period. The sector's surplus in the quarter was US$ 32,6 billion, which represents a growth of 2,1% compared to the first quarter of 2024.
China, the European Union and the United States remained the main destinations, together accounting for more than half of the sector's exports. Asian countries such as Vietnam, Turkey, Bangladesh and Indonesia also saw significant increases in purchases of products such as soybeans, cotton, cellulose and meat.
