Brazilian Agribusiness Congress brings together leaders from the sector

Key leaders from agribusiness, the public sector, and private enterprise, along with representatives from the Executive and Legislative branches, will gather on August 10th in São Paulo for the opening ceremony of the historic 25th edition of the Brazilian Agribusiness Congress (CBA), promoted by Abag and B3 – the Brazilian stock exchange. The presence of Geraldo Alckmin, Vice-President of the Republic, and Tarcísio de Freitas, Governor of the State of São Paulo, is expected.

Among the authorities already confirmed are Ingo Plöger, president of Abag; Luiz Masagão, vice-president of Products and Clients at B3; André de Paula, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock; Tereza Cristina, Senator of the Republic and president of Cosag; Pedro Lupion, federal deputy, president of the Parliamentary Front for Agriculture; Arnaldo Jardim, federal deputy; Geraldo Melo Filho, Secretary of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo; Tirso de Salles Meirelles, president of Faesp/Senar; Silvia Massruhá, president of Embrapa; and Tania Zanella, president of OCB and the Instituto Pensar Agro (IPA).

The Brazilian Agribusiness Congress program will feature the roundtables "Agribusiness in Geopolitics" and "New Government: Priorities and Commitments," as well as the panels "The Industry that Revolutionizes Agribusiness" and "Investment and Financing in Volatile Times."

The program also includes the presentation of the traditional Norman Borlaug Award – Sustainability and the Ney Bittencourt de Araújo Award – Agribusiness Personality, granted by Abag to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of Brazilian agribusiness. This year, the honorees will be Embrapa researcher Iêda Mendes and agricultural engineer Luiz Carlos Corrêa Carvalho, respectively.

The event will conclude with the lecture "Paths to the Future," given by former President Michel Temer, as well as the debut of Future Flash, a new space at the Congress dedicated to presenting innovative solutions and trends capable of transforming the future of agribusiness.
