Brazilian Irrigated Rice Congress 2025 mobilizes Irga and Sosbai

Biennial event will take place in August and will bring together 700 participants to discuss science, technology and sustainability in rice farming

The president of the Rio Grande do Sul Rice Institute (Irga), Eduardo Bonotto, met with representatives of the Southern Brazilian Irrigated Rice Society (Sosbai) to align preparations for the Brazilian Irrigated Rice Congress. This year's edition will take place between August 12 and 15, in Pelotas. Irga is co-organizing the event.

Around 700 people are expected to attend, including producers, researchers, students and industry representatives. The program includes lectures, technical panels and presentations of scientific papers. The theme of this edition is “Sowing knowledge, feeding Brazil”.

Bonotto stated that Irga seeks sustainable solutions for the production chain. The congress is the main scientific and technological showcase for national rice farming and will feature specialists from Brazil and abroad.
