Brazil is expected to produce 36,8% more grain harvests compared to the current production number. As a result, the estimated production of the 2031/2032 grain harvest will be 370,5 million tons, according to data from the Secretariat of Agricultural Policy, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa), by the Secretariat of Intelligence and Strategic Relations, of Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), and the Department of Statistics, University of Brasília (UnB).

Analyzing the study data, this growth will mean an average of 2,7% per year. The highlights should continue with second-crop corn and soybeans. The state of Mato Grosso will lead the growth of corn production in Brazil in the coming years. The study also shows that the State should jump from 41,6 tons to 56,9 tons in the same period.

The demands of the domestic market and exports, combined with increased productivity, should be the engine for production growth. Both the technology should allow greater use and the grain planting area should grow in the next decade.

According to Fábio Pizzamiglio, director of Efficienza, a company specializing in foreign trade consultancy, to achieve its goals Brazil needs to look for ways to continue development in the sector. “Structural and logistical investments are necessary, in addition to a federal commitment to agribusiness. We know that the sector has been largely responsible for the good results in our trade balance and for this to expand, we need more and more investments”, stated the expert.

It is estimated that Brazil exports 114,9 million tons of soybeans (48,9% more than currently), and 19,5 million tons of soybean meal (9,5% more than the current total ). Corn is expected to grow by 25,2% in exports over the next ten years, reaching 46,3 million tons exported.

Chicken meat, which saw production jump due to the search for an alternative to beef, also saw exports increase this year, due to bird flu crises in production in the main competing countries. For the next decade, exports are expected to increase 26,2%, reaching 5,8 million tons. Pork meat, which also had record production this year, should see exports increase by an impressive 38,9% over the next ten years, reaching 1,5 million tons.

“Our State’s commitment must focus on achieving good numbers and the year 2023 will be a great test for the segment, mainly because it is a new federal management. However, what we hope is that the results we have been following continue so that we can cover more and more markets”, added Pizzamiglio, who also stated the importance of expanding Brazil's participation in foreign markets.
