The Brazilian government announced the receipt of authorizations, from governments of several countries, for the export of new agricultural products from Brazil.

Authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) - made up of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia - have authorized the export of bananas and nuts from Brazil to that market. This year, Brazil exported more than USD 1,3 billion in agricultural products to the EAEU.

Furthermore, Brazilian agribusiness will have new opportunities in Saudi Arabia, which has confirmed authorization for Brazil to export yerba mate and macadamia nuts to that country. In 2024, Brazilian agricultural exports to the Saudi market exceeded US$2,3 billion. The government of Thailand, in turn, authorized Brazil to export fish flour and oil, products with high protein and energy value, with various industrial uses. Between January and November 2024, the country imported more than US$2,7 billion in agricultural products from Brazil.

These negotiations reflect the Brazilian government's efforts to diversify its export portfolio and consolidate Brazil's trade relations with different partners. The market openings also demonstrate the high level of international confidence in Brazil's sanitary and phytosanitary control systems.

With these announcements, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 221 market openings in 2024, totaling 299 new business opportunities since the beginning of 2023.

These results are the result of joint work between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
