YAMI amplifies the presence of young people in agribusiness
With themes focused on modernizing the countryside, leadership and succession, the new minds of agribusiness debated the future in a disruptive event
To highlight the importance of the theme of Sustainability in Agribusiness, the Brasil Investment Forum invited Minister Tereza Cristina Dias, from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, and Rodrigo Iafelice dos Santos, CEO of Solinftec, a company that develops solutions that allow farmers to increase efficiency and productivity with fewer inputs, which brings benefits and reduces the environmental impact of the operation.
“Technology provides transparency to the producer. As an example, only 37% of the time an agricultural machine is turned on is used productively. Having this information in real time allows for better performance with reduced inputs”, says Rodrigo Iafelice dos Santos, who also highlighted the importance of connectivity in the field, where 62% of Solinftec customers operate with a data network provided by the company.
Minister Tereza Cristina Dias highlighted the country's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and the importance of sustainability not only on the national scene but as a competitive differentiator in agribusiness exports. “Sustainability issues affect the acceptance of products on the international market. And technology is an ally for agribusiness to be increasingly innovative and inclusive,” she stated.
The panel, which took place this Thursday, 10/10, addressed aspects such as the international scenario for agribusiness, Brazilian sustainable agricultural production, Brazil's role in global food security and investment opportunities in agribusiness sectors.
It was moderated by Marcos Jank, Senior Professor of Global Agribusiness at Insper, and also included the participation of Sergio Ricardo Segovia Barbosa, President of Apex-Brasil; Werner Baumann, Global CEO of Bayer and Luke Chandler, Global Chief Economist at John Deere.
