Braskem, a reference in the petrochemical sector, announces its association with the Instituto Combustível Legal (ICL), which aims to promote discussions with society, government, the judiciary and legislators on the importance of combating irregular fuel trade, among other demands in the segment.

‘’Braskem is a relevant player for providing products that complement the Brazilian fuel market. Our production, petrochemical and taxation knowledge can add value to the sector,” says Isabel Figueiredo, Vice-President of Vinyls and Specialties at Braskem.

The sector is currently one of the largest tax collectors in the country. Therefore, strengthening supervisory agencies is extremely important to generate an environment of greater legal security and tax simplification, which can favor the reduction of the tax evasion rate.

As an ICL member, Braskem begins to join efforts to build a more ethical environment in the fuel sector, a fundamental role in the development of a fair segment for everyone. ''The role of ICL is very important, and Braskem's work with the entity will seek to create mechanisms so that the sector can evolve in the safest and most promising way possible, following ethical and legal standards and in a sustainable manner'', concludes Isabel .

Braskem's initiative to join ICL is aligned with its ESG (environmental, social and governance) strategy and will contribute to its performance in relation to these pillars continuing to develop. The company, which aims to be among the best in the world in sustainable development, is committed to strengthening these practices, as well as building lasting relationships with different audiences, such as customers, members, suppliers and partners.
