Bayer will present a full range of pest management solutions during the 29th Brazilian Entomology Congress, which will take place from September 22 to 26 in Uberlândia (MG). With the theme “Insect Sustainability and Biodiversity”, the event will bring together important discussion forums on Entomology from all over Latin America.

With the growing number of solutions, Bayer is consolidating itself in the insecticide segment, seeking to serve farmers with excellence in products and services. Against sucking insects, such as bedbugs, leafhoppers, boll weevils, coffee borer and sphenophorus, the Curbix insecticide, which quickly combats infestations and protects crops for longer, is aimed at the sugarcane, cotton, soybean, corn and coffee markets. Its mode of action is the most effective against these pests, with a shock effect and long-term control period.

“Curbix is much more effective than its main competitors on the market, based on protocols developed by renowned entomologists. In its first few years since its launch, it has established itself as the best product for controlling bedbugs in soybean crops. The family will soon have a new member, Curbix Max, which offers a broad spectrum of control, including whitefly, one of the pests that most concerns farmers in the Cerrado region,” says Cecilia Melo (pictured, right), Strategic Marketing Director at Bayer Latam.

Looking to the future

Scheduled for the 2025/26 harvest, Plenexos is another new product from Bayer with the potential for great success and the first ketoenol insecticide, which should offer foliar and soil applications. It will be suitable for application on crops such as soybeans, cotton, fruits and vegetables.

“This solution is designed to manage sucking insects in more than seven crops, including soybeans, cotton, beans, citrus fruits, melons, tomatoes and potatoes. It is a platform with an exclusive Bayer molecule, a green product that is highly selective and does not affect beneficial insects, such as pollinators. The solution controls all stages of the pest and has an excellent residual effect. Combined with other active ingredients, the idea is to provide the best solution for Brazilian and global agriculture. The product is still in the protocol phase with the scientific and research chain,” concludes Daniela Okuma (pictured, left), Strategic Marketing Manager at Bayer Latam.
