Bayer and the Agriculture and Livestock Federation of Mato Grosso do Sul (Famasul) signed a partnership to train spraying operators and rural producers in the state, focusing on good herbicide application practices. The "I2X Acerte - Good Application Practices" Program will provide refresher courses to professionals in the sector through instructors in training developed by the entity.
During the training, which has practical and theoretical content, participants receive information on good application practices with the tools associated with the third generation of soybean biotechnology that Bayer brings to the market for the 21/22 harvest.
"In the national ranking, Mato Grosso do Sul is the 5th largest producer and 6th largest exporter of soybeans, and 4th in production and 3rd in corn exports. We are a reference in production, with modern and sustainable agriculture, and knowledge contributes to this achievement "Providing information to our rural producers, such as this course on good practices in the field, is essential for the advancement of Brazilian agriculture", says the president of the Famasul System, Marcelo Bertoni.
The first to receive the refresher courses were the instructors and technicians from Senar/MS, who will multiply knowledge to producers and rural workers in Mato Grosso do Sul. To this end, the entity will also have a mobile laboratory room for training, delivered by Bayer this week to the Famasul System. The room is equipped with simulators that reproduce spraying conditions in the field and facilitate the transfer of information and learning for course participants.
"It will be an itinerant training, therefore, this equipment will travel throughout the cities of Mato Grosso do Sul. We will provide training at exhibitions, fairs, field events and other specific demands that arise", explains Francisco Paredes, director of the Center of Excellence in Beef Cattle.
Among the topics covered in the courses are application technology to reduce drift, 10 steps to intelligent herbicide management, practical and periodic inspection of sprayers, correct and safe use of herbicides.
"This training aims to update our instructors and technicians, so that they have knowledge of new technologies on the market. The content will be used in planning the 'Self-Propelled Sprayer Operation and Maintenance' course at Senar MS", explains the educational manager of the System Famasul, Luciana Baumhardt.
The entity's instructors and technicians will also be able to count on additional tools to encourage learning for their classes, such as a trail with videos for distance learning, a free application with a methodology that assists in the practical and periodic inspection of sprayers and a tool that allows training via WhatsApp .
"For us, it is very important to offer all the conditions so that field teams are highly qualified to adopt new technologies and solutions. This involves a broad qualification and training program. Therefore, it is essential that we can count on the support and the expertise of partners such as Senar, an institution that is a reference in Brazil for training and transferring knowledge to field professionals. Again, we are working in partnership with the chain and with the farmer, providing information with transparency so that the producer can have more efficiency, profitability and sustainability in cultivation", says Natália Carvalho, leader of the launch of the INTACTA 2 XTEND platform.
Training and qualifications, such as "I2X Acerte - Good Application Practices", are the result of a partnership with academics and consultants from Brazil to launch the INTACTA 2 XTEND Platform, which aims to impact 20 thousand people, including producers, multipliers, cooperatives and collaborators , in person and online throughout 2021.
