BASF presents the portfolio of connected offers for seeds, crop protection and digital agriculture at Expodireto Cotrijal, which takes place from March 7th to 11th in Não-Me-Toque (RS). In addition to participating in the fair in person, the company takes the fair's content to digital format.

At Fazenda BASF, which is the content hub for agribusiness, it is possible to visit the virtual stand and have access to the news released at the fair. Always at the side of the farmer and focusing on the legacy of agriculture, BASF also serves those customers and professionals in the sector who cannot participate in the event in person.

During Expodireto Cotrijal, the company highlights the BASF solutions that are the result of investing approximately 900 million euros per year in Research and Development of new solutions for agriculture.

Seed quality

It all starts with the seed. It is the variety that defines the productive potential of the soybean crop. Therefore, the choice of seed is essential for the success and longevity of production. The farmer must take into account quality, on-board technologies and genetics when making the decision on which variety to sow.

The company has two brands of soybean seeds to better serve the farmer and the seed market. The highlights for the event are the Credenz varieties: CZ 15B70 IPRO, CZ 15B40 IPRO, CZ 15B29 XTD, CZ 16B17 IPRO. And the highlights of the Soytech brand are: 580I2X, 490I2X, ST 622 IPRO, BS 2606 IPRO, ST 592 IPRO and ST 599 IPRO.

Soybean diseases

For pest and disease control, BASF offers a complete crop protection portfolio. One of the new features for the event is Votivo Prime, BASF's first bionematicide for the industrial treatment of seeds in Brazil. The new tool promotes control and management of nematodes, greater seedling growth and contributes to the control and management of nematodes.

When it comes to fungicides, BASF's team of experts recommends that farmers plan applications to control diseases in advance, minimizing losses in productivity.

“It is important to carry out efficient disease management before they are installed in the crop at rates that could cause damage to soybean productivity. Especially for the initial phase of soybean cultivation, we rely on Aumenax as it is a broad-spectrum fungicide. Afterwards, the second application can be made with the fungicide Blavity, highly efficient in controlling the complex of soybean diseases, especially rust and target spot. In addition to spraying with the appropriate fungicide, the farmer cannot fail to constantly monitor the crop”, explains Vitor Bernardes, Senior Manager of Soy Portfolio Marketing at BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division.

Digital Agriculture

Also during the fair, the public will be able to learn about the connected offers from xarvio Digital Farming Solutions, BASF's global digital agriculture brand. “Digital solutions help in making the right decision and the most appropriate time for each crop. These are services that facilitate and optimize the farmer's work, being able to increase profitability per plot and further support sustainable practices adapted to the reality of Brazil”, comments Lucas Marcolin, Digital Agriculture Commercial Manager at BASF.

Among the solutions that xarvio offers on the FIELD MANAGER digital platform, one of the best known is Digital Mapping of Weeds, carried out with the aid of a drone, which can be used in the pre- and post-emergence of soybeans and cotton for localized application of herbicides. In addition, the platform also offers information that allows the generation of maps at a variable rate for use at different moments in crops, from planting to harvesting.
