BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division celebrates Farmer's Day (July 28) with the launch of a social action that aims to value education and school spaces.
The project begins in two schools located in the municipalities of Sorriso and Campo Novo do Parecis, which will have revitalized and painted facades. Other schools will also be mapped to receive resources for education in the coming months. The project will be funded by redirecting the company's investments.
Escola Boa Esperança, located in the District of Boa Esperança, in Sorriso, and Escola Nossa Senhora Aparecida, in Campo Novo do Parecis, kick off the project. Together, the institutions serve more than 1.300 children from Kindergarten to Elementary School. The renovations take place at the end of July and will be completed in August with the work of specialized painters and volunteers.
As highlighted by the vice-president of BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division in Brazil, Marcelo Batistela, the action is a way of taking care of the “seeds of the future” and valuing the place in which they develop, in addition to strengthening the company's strategy, which has the customer at the center of everything. “Anyone who thinks about the future knows the importance of taking care of the present, especially in agriculture, an activity that has its structure in the family. We decided to help prepare today for those who cultivate the Legacy of tomorrow”, says the executive.
To Ivania Palmeira, Sustainability and Social Engagement consultant at BASF, these actions allow connecting the company's strategy with the needs of communities. In this way, the company positions itself as a generator of value for the location as well, by exercising its corporate citizenship. “Promoting a positive impact on society is part of our sustainability strategy. This project allows families and students to realize that taking care of schools also means ensuring the quality of education and our common future,” she explains.
With this social action, BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division in Brazil launches a new phase of the Legado institutional campaign, which emerged as a way of valuing and giving more protagonism to farmers and their families. “Our Legacy Was Born to Continue” is the representation of the importance of caring for and protecting children who, with a quality education, are the hope of a more prosperous and sustainable future, says the Communications and Brand Manager of the Agricultural Solutions Division from BASF, Marina Maia Ribeiro.
“Valuing the legacy of families takes on an even more powerful meaning in agriculture. And affirming that this Legacy is Ours, it belongs to BASF, means wanting to be even closer to farmers and their entire families. It’s about wanting to care for and develop those who need us most: children”, declares Marina.
