Increasing the productivity of agriculture and livestock is essential for the development of agribusiness. Using high quality products is essential for a strategy for better performance and greater profitability. In this scenario, forage seed treatment techniques from Barenbrug from Brazil become crucial to help the producer.
The quality of the seed lot is the main basis for the successful formation of pasture and other crops. The mission of Barenbrug from Brazil is to produce and make available seeds with the quality desired by the producer and currently required by the market. The sector's challenges are numerous, but with technological innovation and the high technical capacity of its employees, the company stands out as a global reference in quality control of its seeds.
“Our customers, the producers, need to be very well served. Our quality is always above their expectations and also the minimum standards established by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA). Internally, we value excellence in seed treatment. They go through many stages of testing from when they arrive to when they are bagged”, explains Carlos Zacareli, quality coordinator at Barenbrug do Brasil.
The quality control adopted by Barenbrug do Brasil stands out for being able to evaluate the quality of seeds at all stages of production, from harvesting to bagging as it has its own laboratory (LASBAR) accredited by MAPA, where quality is evaluated of all seed lots. Through a series of analyses, during the stages in the processing and encrustation process of seed lots. Representative samples of the batches are collected at different points in the production process, from the field, through the entire processing, encrustation and packaging line. These analyzes aim to ensure that the batches of seeds produced by Barenbrug meet the highest standards for commercialization in Brazil and in countries where it operates; and above all, they meet the expectations of customers, who seek effective and quality pasture, whose establishment is ensured by a rapid and uniform emergence of seedlings.
“The use of high-quality seeds is of fundamental importance for the efficient establishment or renewal of pasture, as well as in the formation and maintenance of “straw” for grain production. It has an important impact on the potential of culture, necessary for a modern and profitable activity. Therefore, it is advantageous to invest in quality seeds, as they contribute to increasing the production of meat, milk and grains, also ensuring that there is no infestation by nematodes and weeds”, warns Zacareli.
“For all seed lots sold, we archive three counter-samples under different climatic storage conditions. When there is any negative feedback on our product, we analyze the three archived counter-samples, emphasizing the results under the worst conditions. This way we ensure that the problem is not with our quality”, explains Carlos.
For Barenbrug from Brazil the producer must be attended to. Your seed must germinate faster to form pasture or a consistent straw layer. High quality provides faster seed germination and consequently pasture formation. Livestock farmers can benefit from faster pasture availability for their cattle, saving time and money. The grain producer, on the other hand, benefits from the formation and maintenance of high-quality soil cover, contributing to the production of annual crops, such as corn and soybeans. This shows the importance of a quality seed and the data reflects how producers can only benefit from trusting the company's excellent work.
“Our seeds have high purity and germination, they all undergo several tests that are carried out throughout the production process, so that minimum quality standards are ensured. Furthermore, it is important to highlight that all of our production fields employ high technology and respect for the environment. Sustainability is a watchword for Barenbrug and we only partner with companies that have the same mindset and respect the environment”, he concludes.
