Banco do Brasil reaches R$50 billion in credit for Pronaf

Banco do Brasil announced this Monday (17/01) the milestone of R$50 billion in rural credit for small rural producers, included in Pronaf. The amount was announced by the bank's president, Fausto Ribeiro, during the launch of the third stage of the Agro Business Circuit, an initiative that will provide rural advice to rural producers located in more than 600 municipalities. President Jair Bolsonaro, vice-president Hamilton Mourão, minister Tereza Cristina and ministers Paulo Guedes (Economy) and General Heleno (Institutional Security Office) participated in the ceremony.

The milestone reached by the bank was celebrated by minister Tereza Cristina. “This announcement is proof that small producers are valued and a large part of Mapa’s work is dedicated to small producers so that they can produce more, have credit, income and remain in the field.” In the Harvest Plan, the bank has already disbursed R$93 billion, which corresponds to an increase of 63% compared to the same period of the previous harvest. 

In the Agro Circuit, three adapted trucks will act as mobile branches of the bank and will travel 60 thousand kilometers, between January and December 2022, visiting the main agribusiness areas in the country and promoting business generation for the sector. The expectation is that the Circuit will generate business in the order of R$1,5 billion.

The president of BB, Fausto Ribeiro, highlighted that the circuit will “bring a level of technical knowledge so that little ones can produce more”.
