Banco da Amazônia (Basa) and Coopernorte completed another strategic partnership between the entities: FNO financing, which aims to implement Coopernorte's agroindustry, a project to verticalize grain production in the region of Paragominas (PA).

The new agroindustry will focus on the processing and packaging of a wide range of products, including corn, flakes, hominy, cornmeal, popcorn, beans and various types of rice. This initiative represents a significant advance for local agriculture and strengthens the strategic partnership between the two entities, boosting economic development and the diversification of agricultural production in the region.

The Coopernorte agroindustry will occupy an area of more than 8 thousand square meters, with 3.600 m2 allocated to the Processing Unit and 3.600 m2 to the industry, in addition to space for grain silos.

In addition to facilitating the construction of the project, the partnership aims to finance the acquisition of highly modern machinery and equipment, including cutting-edge technology that is pioneering in the region.

“Vertical integration in the source of raw material production will strengthen the cooperative and producers, resulting in increased profitability and investments. Furthermore, it will promote the generation of jobs and income, in line with local initiatives to encourage industrialization”, highlights Bazílio Carloto, CEO of Coopernorte.

The agroindustry will also rely on the use of grains produced by Coopernorte members, making the agroindustry self-sufficient and increasing its representation in the regional agribusiness sector. “This will be an attraction for the increase in cooperative members, as well as a boost for agricultural productivity and the local economy. Vertical integration in grain production will result in fairer prices for local consumers and the creation of significant employment and income opportunities”, he states.

The partnership between Banco da Amazônia and Coopernorte reinforces the shared commitment to boost the economic and social development of the region through sustainable agriculture and the industrialization of agricultural products. “We hope that this project will be an important milestone in strengthening the agricultural community and local economic growth”, he concludes.
