Scheduled to take place from June 9 to 14 in Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA), the 2025 edition of Bahia Farm Show is already generating movement in the local economy, even with two months to go until the event. Considered one of the largest agricultural technology fairs in the country, Bahia Farm Show attracts exhibitors and visitors from different regions, which generates an increase in the demand for accommodation, transportation, food and support services.

The hotel sector, for example, operates at maximum occupancy during the fair. Luana Corsi, manager of the Hotel Solar Rio das Pedras, says that demand begins in the previous edition, when participants already guarantee their reservations for the following year. “During the event, all rooms are occupied and we hire extra professionals to meet the demand,” she explains.

The impact is also being felt by travel agencies, as reported by Adriana Camargo, from Redon do Brasil. According to her, the movement of exhibitors and visitors is driving both air and road transport. “There are daily flights to Barreiras airport and we also use chartered buses to take participants to the fair,” she says.

In the food sector, local restaurants and buffet services are also organizing themselves to accommodate the increased number of attendees. Fabiane Paloschi, from the Território Steakhouse restaurant, emphasizes that planning is essential. “Operating during the event requires additional staff and infrastructure to serve a large and demanding audience.”

The fair’s organizers estimate that economic activity will occur before, during and after the event, impacting different sectors. According to the Secretary of Economic Development of Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Nei Vilares, the fair represents a period of increased business volume for local companies, in addition to the generation of temporary jobs. “This type of event activates several production chains and has important repercussions for the city’s economy,” he says.

The event is held annually and focuses on the exhibition of machinery, equipment and technologies aimed at agribusiness. The expectation is that this year's edition will maintain the growth recorded in previous years, both in number of participants and in business volume.
