The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) is making available, this Thursday, the 23rd, another R$4,8 billion in resources for rural credit operations within the scope of programs of the 2024-2025 Harvest Plan. Of this amount, R$2,7 billion will be allocated to lines aimed at corporate agriculture and R$2,1 billion to family agriculture.

With this measure, the total resources still available in the different Federal Government Agricultural Programs (PAGF) to be transferred by the Bank is R$11 billion, with a deadline for use until June 2025.

The resources may be used by rural producers, cooperatives and family farmers to cover costs and invest in various purposes, including expanding production, purchasing machinery and equipment, storage and innovation.

“This new release of funds demonstrates the strategic role of BNDES in President Lula’s government in supporting Brazilian agriculture, promoting both the growth of family farming and the development of corporate agriculture. Our goal is to ensure that small and medium-sized producers have access to the credit they need to invest in innovation, modernization and sustainable practices, strengthening the production chain and contributing to the transition to a greener economy,” noted BNDES President Aloizio Mercadante.

Cycle 2024-2025 - In the 2024-2025 Harvest Plan, BNDES has already approved R$27,9 billion and responded to requests for more than 126 indirect operations carried out by the network of accredited financial agents. In addition to PAGFs, BNDES also offers its own solutions to guarantee the supply of credit to the agricultural sector throughout the year, such as BNDES Crédito Rural – in the current harvest, the product has already totaled R$3,7 billion in approved operations.
