For BB Seguros, which supports Banco do Brasil's insurance operations in Brasilseg, the event is another opportunity to present the rural insurance products it has available, as well as the financial solutions that Banco do Brasil, in agribusiness, it is the largest provider and partner for rural producers.
“Currently, we offer a diverse range of products, with insurance in the agricultural modalities, invoicing, improvements and agricultural products, rural pledge, forests and life of the rural producer. We want to reinforce the availability of these solutions to the market, as the current scenario demonstrates the maturity of the sector in relation to risk management and the increased awareness of producers about the importance of protection” explains Paulo Hora, technical superintendent of rural insurance at Brasilseg, BB Seguros company.
To highlight the importance and social role of insurance and the return it brings to the economic balance of the producer and local economies, symbolic checks will be delivered during Tecnoshow to rural producers who are insured by the company and who have lost revenue due to this year's adverse weather conditions. BB Seguros Highlights
One of the most sophisticated products in the company's portfolio is BB Seguro Agrícola Faturamento insurance, which offers protection against losses caused by bad weather and the risks of price and exchange rate variations.
This is a type of insurance that proposes more comprehensive compensation, precisely because it includes the variation in the price of the commodity at harvest time.
“The product is in increasing demand from the market, which is lacking products with broader coverage. This protects the income that the producer intends to have”, explains Hora.
Currently, the insurer works with 12 crops in agricultural insurance and, in revenue insurance, since 2010 with soybeans and corn and, since 2014, with coffee.
“We have a huge responsibility in the agricultural insurance program as we are market leaders and insure an extensive area with crops planted in the summer and winter harvests. There are more than 60 thousand policies distributed on properties across the country, and we are investing heavily in building a model that will be fundamental for the management of rural insurance in the future”, highlights the executive.
For the second half of 2019, the insurance company is studying expanding the revenue product to include second-crop corn cultivation. It is also planned to launch billing insurance for livestock farming, a first for the market.
