Due to climate events that affected the productivity of soybean, corn, rice and coffee crops in several states across the country, Brazilian producers are facing a delicate moment from an economic point of view. To support producers and ensure their activity, BB Seguros has intensified work to determine losses and quickly compensate customers, making it possible to restore producers' ability to pay obligations, maintain fundraising for the winter harvest and also the anticipation of resources for the 2020/2021 summer harvest.
According to the insurance company, loss reports in the current harvest exceeded 7, concentrated in the states of RS, PR, MS and GO. Rio Grande do Sul is the most affected state, accumulating 66% of the losses from the summer harvest. Soy represents 90% of communications, followed by corn and coffee crops.
BB Seguros operates using resources available at the insurer, such as digital communication and claim tracking tools, satellite images with remote sensing data and loss references, photographic records, supporting documents agreed with customers and technical interviews to validate information . Thus, considering the mobility restrictions that hinder the carrying out of in-person inspections in some cases, the insurance company makes the inspection process possible with remote monitoring and provides resources to producers in the event of losses, so that they can be assisted quickly.
According to Ivandré Montiel, president of Brasilseg, a BB Seguros company, this claim regulation model was only possible thanks to investments made in processes, people and technology for the agribusiness segment at the insurance company. "We are carrying out all the necessary communications with our customers and the loss adjustment will take place with complete technical security. Our objective is that all rural producers, our customers, are served and have their losses measured and paid, enabling the continuity of activities in the field".
