BASF has launched the Xarvio Connect 2.0 in North America, a portable device for exchanging data between the Xarvio Field Manager and compatible agricultural machinery terminals. The solution transfers application maps, records operation data, and eliminates the need for a smartphone or tablet.
The device uses a USB connection and has an integrated SIM card. Communication occurs through a secure mobile network, the company reports. The system keeps the data stored during periods without coverage and performs the transfer after the connection is restored.
The Xarvio Connect 2.0 accepts formats such as ISOXML and Shapefile. The technology allows the sending of maps for fixed or variable rate operations in seeding, crop protection, and nutrition. The device is compatible with ISOBUS and CAN-bus.
According to BASF, the transfer begins after the device is connected to the machine's terminal USB port. The Xarvio Field Manager maps reach the equipment within minutes.
The solution also records information generated during operations. Among the data collected are harvest, moisture levels, and application rates. Field Manager allows the use of this information to estimate input costs, productivity, and revenue in near real-time.
BASF tested the equipment in North America during the 2024 and 2025 growing seasons. The trials involved planters, sprayers, and fertilizer spreaders from different manufacturers. According to the company, the device also operated on machines that were more than ten years old.
