Maximilian Becker assumes leadership of BASF's global vegetable seed business as Senior Vice President, operating in the market under the Nunhems brand. The change takes place on October 1, 2022. Maximilian succeeds Vicente Navarro, who retires after 37 years with the company.
"It is a huge honor for me to step in the footsteps of Vicente Navarro. For so many years he shaped not only our business, but also the vegetable seed industry," said the executive.
"I believe this business has a tremendous future in providing solutions for one of the most relevant topics in the world: healthy nutrition."
Maximilian Becker was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in 1986. He studied Economics and Law at EBS University in Wiesbaden, Germany and at INSEAD Fontainebleau, France.
He has a master's degree in international business from ESADE, Barcelona, Spain. He joined BASF in 2013. He has served in various roles within BASF's Nutrition and Health division, leading strategic projects and as chief of staff for a board member.
Since 2018 he has been general director of BASF Portuguesa and head of agricultural country management solutions in Portugal. Before starting his career at BASF, Maximilian accumulated experience in consulting companies.
