Leading strategic projects in the field of agricultural pesticides, scientific researcher Hamilton Ramos, from the Advanced Engineering and Automation Division of the Agronomic Institute (DEA-IAC), coordinated a series of events in the state of Goiás last week. At the invitation of BASF, he gave presentations and participated in field days focused on the transfer of technology for the application of chemical and biological products to producers of different agricultural crops.
Ramos, the current director of DEA-IAC, an agency of the São Paulo State Department of Agriculture and Supply, based in the city of Jundiaí, traveled with BASF professionals to the cities of Formosa, Goiatuba, Mineiros, Montividiu, Rio do Pires, and Rio Verde. Approximately 300 people participated in the meetings.
“In addition to application technology, we bring concepts developed within the scope of DEA-IAC projects, focused on the safety of operations involving the application of chemical and biological pesticides,” summarizes Ramos.
The Advanced Engineering and Automation Division of IAC celebrated its 56th anniversary on the 14th of this month. Over the last two decades, the research institution has distinguished itself through its pioneering work in developing strategic technologies for the application of agricultural pesticides and the protection of rural workers.
Programs such as Spraying Adjuvants, Apply Well, IAC-Quepia (agricultural PPE), Drones SP, and the Reference Unit for Chemical and Biological Products, for example, originated at DEA in Jundiaí and are recognized both nationally and internationally for delivering significant results to farmers and companies.
Funded with private resources, these programs cover the entire spectrum of operations involving the technological and safe handling of agricultural pesticides.
