The Aurora Wine Cooperative celebrates its 95th anniversary with impressive results. Founded in Bento Gonçalves (RS), in 1931, by 16 grape-producing families, its trajectory gave rise to the largest winery in Brazil, which today brings together around 1,1 members and cultivates approximately 3 hectares of vineyards in the Serra Gaúcha region. In 2025, revenue reached R$ 874 million, a record since its creation, with growth of 3,9% compared to the previous year, driven by the strong performance of all categories in its portfolio of approximately 220 products.
Grape juice was one of the main highlights of the period, with a 10,8% increase in sales, representing a 38% market share in Brazil, according to data from the Brazilian Union of Viticulture (Uvibra). Sparkling wines grew by 3,4% in 2025. According to data from Scanntech, Aurora maintains its second-place position in the national sparkling wine market, consolidating its strength in the sparkling wine segment.
Fueled by one of the largest harvests in its history, Vinícola Aurora celebrates its 95th anniversary with impressive figures both in the field and in wine tourism. The cooperative projects a harvest of 85 million kilograms of grapes, a volume 18,7% higher than the last harvest.
In February, the grape harvest reaches its peak, also boosting experiential tourism in Aurora, which is expected to attract around 30 visitors in the first two months of the year.
In 2025, the three units open to the public – Aurora Città and Vale dos Vinhedos, in Bento Gonçalves, and the vineyards of Pinto Bandeira – received 260,8 visitors. This represents a 55% increase compared to 2024, a year impacted by the floods and landslides that affected the state. The expectation for 2026 is to maintain a similar flow of tourists.
In the context of governance and sustainability, the cooperative has advanced in consolidating its ESG strategy with the publication of its Sustainability Report in October 2025. The document is based on the double materiality process and is aligned with national and international best practices in sustainability and corporate governance.
According to Renê Tonello, president of the Aurora Wine Cooperative, the results reflect the strength of the cooperative movement.
“Aurora is built by thousands of families who help develop the countryside and the city. We combine tradition and innovation throughout the entire chain, from the raw material in the vineyard, through the industry, to the points of sale and consumers in Brazil and abroad, resulting in the excellence of the Aurora brand,” he emphasizes.
As part of its 95th anniversary celebrations, Vinícola Aurora will launch a special edition red wine, which will be sold exclusively in its own stores and on the brand's e-commerce site. The cooperative launches an average of five products per year.
Furthermore, on February 14th, in the Borgo neighborhood square in Bento Gonçalves — the place where, in 1931, the 16 members met to begin the creation of the cooperative — a mass will be celebrated and a memorial will be inaugurated. The tribute will include the installation of a stone with a plaque alluding to Aurora's first headquarters.
